Who we are

Jack is a trading name of Sam Part, a sole trader, of 185 Tamworth Lane, Mitcham, CR4 1DH. We decide how your personal data is used for the purposes below. Contact us about your data at samueljpart@gmail.com.

Three groups this notice covers

  1. People who visit our website or talk to our sales assistant (chat or phone).
  2. Our business customers (tradespeople who use Jack).
  3. People who call or message a business that uses Jack. For these calls the business is in charge of your data and we act on its behalf. Each business has its own short privacy page, linked in the first text you receive; you can also contact us and we'll pass your request on.

1. Website visitors and enquiries

  • What we collect: your name, business name, trade, phone number, email, what you tell us about your business, chat and call transcripts with our sales assistant, and basic website usage data. We don't record the audio of calls.
  • Why: to answer your questions, give you a quote, book a setup call and follow up on your enquiry.
  • Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and following up with people who contacted us.
  • Follow-ups: we only contact people who contacted us first. Every text includes a way to stop messages.
  • Kept for: 12 months after our last contact if you don't become a customer; transcripts 30 days.

2. Business customers

  • What we collect: your contact and business details, the information you give us to set up Jack, billing details (handled by Stripe; we don't see your full card number), and our messages with you.
  • Why: to provide Jack, bill you, support you and meet our legal obligations (for example tax records).
  • Lawful basis: performance of our contract with you; legal obligation for financial records.
  • Kept for: the length of our contract, then 6 years for financial records.

3. Callers to businesses using Jack

The business you called is the controller; we are its processor. Jack is an AI assistant who answers when the business can't. He takes your details and passes them to the business. We don't record the audio of the call unless the business has chosen that and Jack has told you. A transcript is kept for 30 days so the call can be checked and Jack improved, then deleted. Your job details are kept by the business in its own records.

Who we share data with

Service providers who help us run Jack and our business, under contract: Vapi (AI voice assistant, keeps nothing after the call), Twilio (phone and text), n8n (automations), Google (storage and calendars), Stripe (payments) and our accountant. We never sell personal data or use it for anyone else's marketing, and we don't let it be used to train AI models.

Transfers outside the UK

Some providers process data in the US. Where they do, we rely on a safeguard UK law accepts: the UK-US data bridge for certified providers, or the ICO's International Data Transfer Agreement / UK Addendum.

Automated decisions

Jack is an AI assistant, but he doesn't make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects. Bookings and quotes are checked and confirmed by the business.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for it in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it. Contact samueljpart@gmail.com. If you're unhappy, you can complain to us and to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113).

Changes

We'll update this notice when how we use data changes. Last updated: 4 November 2026.
